Let me tell you, waiting for my car to come off the lot and into the driveway (about 2 weeks) was excruciating. Since getting the taste of the BMW driving experience, all I wanted to do was run over to the dealer, grab my keys, and hit the highway for a road trip. Anyways, during these 2 weeks of waiting, I did what any sane person would do... read every single 2015 320xi review article I could get my hands on and scour Youtube for review videos. While diving through the countless video reviews of this car, the one sentiment that held true through all the videos was that BMW had softened up the driving experience for the new generations of 3 series from the older generations, especially the E30s. Don't get me wrong, putting my 320xi in sport mode (tightening up the steering and holding onto the gears much longer) gives me the same chills every single day.
But after hearing that this is the 'softer version' of the ultimate driving experience, I can't even imagine the feedback and roar that sitting behind the wheel of a 1990 BMW E30 M3 would be like. Going back and watching progress posts about people restoring their E30 M3's has me itching at the first opportunity to sit in the passenger seat, let alone get behind the wheel. I don't know where to begin to even search for an E30 M3 to look at in person, but I'm hoping in the next few months I'll get lucky and catch a glimpse of my dream car. Wish me luck!
